Goose Station Central
At Bon Bon Pond
we adore Canada Geese and are thrilled to presently play host to a gaggle of
52. For many years, I have dreamed of having a beautiful swing that would
overlook their feeding ground so I could sit and watch my beloved friends. A
very special thanks to my buddy Jeff for making this dream come true on Sunday.

2015 Gosling Report
It’s
been a strange nesting season at Bon Bon Pond.
No goslings were born from our resident pair, but then last week two families
arrived with toddlers in tow. One group
has seven offspring and the other three. All are bashful so it’s tough to get
good photos. Look closely at the picture
below and you will see family number two, up the hill behind the first group.

Au Revoir!
ith Monday’s snowstorm and the accompanying frigid
temps forecast to stay, the pond should freeze over by next week. It’s always sad to say goodbye to my waterfowl
as I worry about them over the winter.
The photo below was taken last month and shows
the two resident families enjoying a late autumn swim.

2014 Family Reunion
he
relatives flocked in from neighboring ponds but this this year’s festivities
weren’t anywhere near as entertaining as
those of years past. There were not as many participants, plus the
gathering took place in the pasture instead of on the bank. ??? The wide open space cut down on the usual faux
fighting and posturing that provides such stellar entertainment. Most found a shady spot and simply took a
rest. Oh, well, all involved appeared to
enjoy the day.
