It’s
a sure sign of spring when the Red-winged Blackbirds come back to Bon Bon
Pond. Last Thursday afternoon when I returned
home from shopping I was greeted with the familiar and uplifting trill of one
lone male traveler. Perched high in his favorite spot--the cedar
trees surrounding the gazebo—he serenaded me with his lovely call, announcing to the world how happy he was to
be back home.
How lovely! Ours are not back yet but there's tons of snow and still way below freezing. Some of our geese are back but in far fewer numbers than in previous years, at this time of year. It's lovely to have them back.
