Winter
returned last night with colder temps and a dusting of snow. We are all somewhat dazed and confused by the
weird weather, including—apparently—the wildlife. Imagine my surprise this morning when I discovered
a female Downy Woodpecker hanging on the thistle sock. After a few moments, she realized her mistake
and flew to the fruit and nut feeder. That’s OK, little lady, we have all “senior
moments.”
