Storm Update

(please click on image to embiggen)

Wednesday’s storm packed a wallop.  It wasn’t the amount of snow, but rather the type.  What started as a slushy rain-snow mix then  turned to snow when the temps suddenly plummeted.  In the process, the bottom layer of mush turned to ice. The result has been a four to six inch mess in the metro area that has bedeviled commuters and road maintenance workers.

Nothing is worse to blow than heavy wet snow.  Somewhere in Wednesday’s misery, my trusty John Deere snow thrower broke a shear pin—it’s first in 22 years of faithful service—then froze up!  Not to worry,  Help was on the way!  Sick with  a sinus infection, Bon Bon Pond’s best buddy, Jeff, nevertheless rode to our rescue and got the ol’ beast back up and running.

During this joyous and blessed season, we send out heartfelt thanks to our dear friend for his unwavering support and assistance.
