Ode to an Elusive Oriole
Why are you so bashful, beautiful bird?
Ready to alight, from a single human word,
My face at the window, the creak of a door
And you're off to the forest, to be seen, nevermore
Like A flickering flame, your feathers are stunning
But even a glimpse, requires stealth and cunning
I shower you, with gifts of jelly and nectar,
Can we please be friends, I’m not Hannibal Lecter!
